Hannah Dove Akutcha

Ghana & University of Cape Town, 2022

Hannah Dove Akutcha holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Management) degree from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. She is interested in business, management and finance and as such, she in her year in residence she will be studying Master of Commerce (Financial Management) at the University of Cape Town.

Dove is committed to being a part of solutions to the problems of society. She founded Banaducts Enterprise during her undergraduate years as a business to produce eco-friendly paper bags from waste products. She ventured into the enterprise because of the impact of plastic wastes on the environment and the unemployment rate in Ghana. She is also keen on leveraging her success to help other young people achieve their goals in life. Hence, she has taken on the task of mentoring a number of young people.

She hopes to apply the knowledge and experiences she acquires during her masters studies to contribute appropriately to Africa’s development by working industriously in the finance sector and creating other businesses.

I have an undergraduate degree with above-average academic results (70% + or Upper Second Class Honours)

Do you believe that reconciliation and reparation are the key to transforming our societies so that everyone can have equal opportunity to thrive? And are you prepared to begin by grappling with your own internal divides and difficulties first?


Do you have excellent academic results, but believe that your education should not only benefit you but make a difference to others? And do you understand that intellectual excellence must be accompanied by character and a rounded personality?


Do you want to see Africa take its rightful place as an equal and competitive presence in the global world? Have you demonstrated individual effort, innovation and creativity to this end?
