Loveness Kimaro

Tanzania & University of Cape Town, 2024

Dr. Loveness Kimaro is a public health professional with over five years of experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), research and data analysis. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Cape Town and has completed specialised training in health programme design and evaluation, implementation research for diseases of poverty, and human-centred design.

She serves as a Research Associate on the Strengthening HPV Vaccination and Adolescent Health Implementation Research Project (SHARP), which aims to expand HPV vaccine access for out-of-school adolescent girls in Tanzania. Previously, she coordinated SRHR programmes at a youth-led NGO, TAMIDA, reaching more than 5,000 adolescents, and now continues to advise the organisation on research and project implementation.

Her contributions to global health have been recognised through awards such as the Mandela Rhodes Foundation Scholarship, the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Early Career Research Grant, and the Belgian DGD Scholarship. Dr. Kimaro is passionate about advancing SRHR in Tanzania through evidence-based strategies, collaboration, and capacity building.

Dr.Loveness is also the CEO of Artmade Africa Company, a socio-enterprise dedicated to empowering vulnerable and marginalised adolescent girls and young women through entrepreneurship skills.

In her free time, Loveness enjoys spending time with friends, dancing and listening to music.
