Daniel Ndima

Daniel Ndima is a scientist who specialized in structural biology. He is a protein engineer, trained in crystallography, bioprocess engineering and biomanufacturing. He has a Bachelor & Honours degrees in Biotechnology and a Masters degree in Biochemistry (Structural Biology). Throughout his academic journey, he was awarded multiple awards and scholarships for his excellence in academics, social responsibility, student leadership, and entrepreneurial initiatives. He is a fellow and proud beneficiary of the prestigious Allan Gray Orbis Foundation and Mandela Rhodes Scholarship (Class of 2015). He is also a Brightest Young Minds (BYM2016) Alumnus. Daniel has served as a Non-Executive Director and Board Member for various Youth and Entrepreneurial Development Non-Profit Organizations. He is the founder and former Executive Chairman of Achievers Elevation Foundation - A youth skills development NGO based in the Western Cape Province. He founded 3 (three) different enterprises as an undergraduate student and was subsequently awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Award at the University of the Western Cape. He is currently a co-founder and Non-Executive Director of Buntusoft, an IT company that developed SplushMobile App and Splush car washing products. Daniel strongly advocates for science that creates jobs, alleviates poverty, contributes to national development and the economy. Daniel has worked at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) towards the commercialization of technologies as a technologist and business developer. I am a founding CEO of CapeBio Technologies (CapeBio), a new South African applied genomics and biotech company that spun out from the CSIR that develops Life Science tools and molecular biology reagent enzymes kits to empower African Scientists, Research and Development (R&D) institutions and companies to innovate in their respective academic, diseases diagnostics & pathologies and those that innovate in the healthcare industry.
