David Chapoloko

Zambia & University of Cape Town, 2024

David Chapoloko is widely celebrated for his remarkable contributions as a Land Restoration Activist, Climate & Conservation Leader, and Innovator. With an impressive track record spanning over 5 years, David has made a substantial global impact.

A 2024 Mandela Rhodes Scholar studying M.Sc in Conservation Biology at the University of Cape Town(UCT), he is recognized as a top 10 global 'Land Hero' by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), he also serves as the CEO of AgreeNect Technologies, a platform he established to empower small-scale farmers through digital innovation.

Furthermore, David is the visionary founder of Art for Climate Zambia, a social enterprise that has positively impacted households and empowered young individuals in Zambia through the Green Development Academy.

David's academic journey includes a degree in Forestry from Copperbelt University and an Agronomy Diploma from Agrostudies in Israel.

Remarkably, he is an alumni for among others, the YALI RLC SA and the 2021 Global Leadership Challenge(Oxford University).

Among his many accolades, David has received the 2023 "100 Excellence Action for Global Youth Development" award, the 2022 Zambia National Innovation Award in Climate Change and Smart Agriculture, and the 2020 UNDP Zambia Top 10 Sustainable Innovations Award in Waste Management, among others.

As a global speaker, David has left an indelible mark through impactful speeches at prestigious international events, including the GLF Nairobi 2023 Hybrid Conference, ECO FORUM GLOBAL Guiyang 2023, the Asia-Europe Forum on Green Development 2022, the World Youth Development Forum 2022, and the COP 15 on Desertification of the UNCCD.
