It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Lunathi Ngwane. Lunathi was the programme officer at the MRF from 2020 to early 2023.

Lunathi will be remembered for her warmth, her brilliant mind, and her heart for people. She lived courageously and in her own words “served at the altar of truth and integrity”. As serious about social justice as she was, she will also be remembered for her clever sense of humour and her devotion to Beyoncé and reality television. Her light has gone out too soon.

Lunathi is survived by her mother, sister and nieces whom she loved very much.

“Lunathi was a gifted facilitator who made a significant impact on the lives of the scholars she encountered during her time at the MRF. We extend our hearfelt condolences to her family, as they mourn their loss and celebrate her life,” said MRF CEO Judy Sikuza.
