Abdulbaki Ahmad

Nigeria & University of Cape Town, 2026

Abdulbaki Ahmad is a Nigerian energy and development practitioner focused on creating sustainable and equitable solutions for African communities. With a BEng in Electrical Engineering, he recently served as a Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State through the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, contributing to policy and innovation projects that advanced the state’s technology and sustainability goals.

He co-founded Greeniilde, a social enterprise delivering clean energy and climate-smart solutions to underserved areas. Through his work with the Center for Renewable Energy and Action on Climate Change, he has supported solar initiatives improving access to education, healthcare, and livelihoods. As an ICESCO Youth Peace Ambassador and Nigeria’s Climate Mobility Youth Delegate to the United Nations COP29, he champions youth inclusion in climate and peacebuilding conversations. A published author since 2020, he draws meaning from listening, storytelling, and reflective dialogue about humanity’s present and future.
