Gugulethu Mudzingiranwa

Zimbabwe & University of Pretoria, 2026

Gugulethu Mudzingiranwa is a Zimbabwean human rights advocate, deeply rooted in her Ndebele and Shona heritage and guided by the values of Ubuntu. She is committed to advancing social justice, with a focus on women’s and children’s rights. A first-generation university graduate, she holds a BSc Honours in Political Science from the University of Zimbabwe and is completing an LLB at Stellenbosch University, viewing law as a tool for transformation and empowerment.

Her leadership journey began in 2022 with the Ubuntu Learning Community, studying alongside incarcerated students at Brandvlei Correctional Facility, which strengthened her understanding of empathy and restorative justice. She has served as Transformation Officer for the Juridical Society, Justice of the Student Court, and board member of AMANI, promoting African international student inclusion.

Gugulethu is passionate about mooting, representing Stellenbosch in competitions, and engaging with diverse communities. She volunteers as a legal assistant with the Imbadu Bakery Cooperative in Kayamandi Township, supporting grassroots empowerment, and believes education is a tool for service, using her skills to create lasting social impact.
