After completing my honours degree in English at UCT in 2014, I moved back to KwaZulu-Natal and worked as a high school teacher for a year and a half. In June 2016 I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study an MA in Creative Writing at Binghamton University in New York State, USA. In August, I got married to Gareth Mauck, and we moved to the US on the 20th August to start the semester.
